T-Mobile G2 Touch
The T-Mobile G2 Touch is a touch screen smartphone that uses the Google Android operating system and has received excellent reviews from most experts thanks to its intuitive and highly customisable interface and its powerful hardware.
Since the G2 is based on the HTC Hero there is plenty of scope for getting online and staying in touch with 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, along with GPS and Bluetooth. There is even a 5 megapixel camera on the rear, although the lack of a flash means lighting conditions will need to be fairly good to get the best results.

About the T-Mobile G2 Touch
The T-Mobile G2 is not a demure device to look at. Its lower edge juts out like the chiselled chin of an action hero, with the trackball sitting like a little dimple in the middle. However, this is a handsome phone if you can get over the slightly odd shape and the all-black casing makes it look a lot less ostentatious than the HTC equivalent.
The G2 uses the Android operating system, which means there are all of the major Google applications built into the device. You can scour the face of the globe and find your way using Google Maps, get all of your emails straight to the phone using GMail and browse through thousands more useful applications on the Android Market. Many are available to download for free and there are games as well as apps to help with your productivity.
HTC has taken the basic Android interface and tweaked it with its own Sense software. This allows you to set up many unique home screens which you can scroll through with the swipe of a finger. The purpose of this is to allow you to group your most frequently used applications into different profiles that you can access in different situations.
For example, you might want to have access to your email and organiser whilst you are at work, but then you could set up a separate home screen with your Twitter and Facebook feeds available for when you head home and want to catch up with friends.
Though this can sound a little confusing at first, you needn't dive straight into the fray as the G2 comes set up rather well straight out of the box. Once you have got settled you can explore the intricacies of the Sense interface.
What many people will find astounding about the G2 is the length of time over which its battery can reportedly keep on powering the phone. According to the statistics it will allow you to talk for 7 hours straight using the 3G connection, which is impressive.
What's more, the G2 can be left on standby for over a month without giving up the ghost. Though obviously these figures will probably change drastically once you get your hands on it and start playing with all the bells and whistles, it is encouraging to see such confidence put in the battery's abilities.
The 3.2 inch screen is fairly large and the G2 is compatible with every common audio and video file format under the sun. The media playing software is good for a phone and if you hold it in a landscape position you can watch videos streaming from the internet without straining your eyes.
This brief overview has barely scratched the surface of the T-Mobile G2 Touch, but if you choose this phone you will find much, much more going on.
